Feeling nervous about your photo taken? DONT!!
Read here how easy it is to have your wedding photos taken by Darren Byrne Wedding Photography, even when you HATE having your photo taken.
Being Nervous
Being nervous in front the camera is completely normal and a lot more common than you think. But when your planning your wedding and you want those amazing photos you are probably wondering how you’re going to cope with camera shyness on the day? We’ll worry no more. Any top photographer (like myself 😉) will know exactly how to ease those nerves and help you feel totally comfortable having your photo taken. Here’s some top tips to help you feel like the celebrity you deserve to be…
Lots of couples are under the assumption that all wedding photos have to be posed but this is not at all true. When the time comes for my couples to have their photoshoot I tend to look on it as a little break away from everything thats going on and have some alone time. I think its nice to spend this time going for a walk and at certain points I might tell you to say something ridiculous to each other and in turn make each other laugh. These are the priceless shots. Natural, fun photos with lots of laughter, a few cuddles and a whole lotta love.
I don’t like keeping you away from your party for too long so I tend to keep these pics to about 20 mins max. There might be a moment later on in the day when the sun is setting where Ill ask you to pop outside for a quick snap. Trust me, these shots are worth it. Guys, if your someone that never knows what to do with your hands, the best thing to do is either pop them in your pocket or around your partners waist. Ladies, you’ll have your bouquets to hold so no need to worry there.
If your really dreading the thoughts of spending time in front of the camera on your big day then I highly recommend having an Engagement Shoot done beforehand. The shoots last for about an hour and here we will work closely with you, giving you all advice youll need to help you relax, look less tense and more natural in your real wedding photos. During that hour or so, youll be listening to our tips, having fun and capturing some fab shots but youll also get a feel for how we work on the day. We’ll watch how you are with each other, get to know your personalities and any little quirks you may have. These are the little details that will make your wedding photos unique & special to you both. Building a relationship with us before your big day will make a huge difference in how the day feels. Instead of spending hours with a complete stranger, itll be like having a friend with you all day.
And finally, book a documentary photographer, like me!! 😉
My ethos is to capture the day in a totally relaxed and natural way with as little posing as possible. I try to stay in the background and blend in as much as possible. Everyone loves the un-posed, natural shots showing the laughter and the fun of the day in a totally chilled out way. When the time comes I will be able to give you that little push and kick in the arse to make sure your day stays on track and give you guidance when needed during photos.
A father of 2, I know how important family photos are, they are the memories youll cherish for years to come. But these can be taken in the same relaxed manor as your own shoot and I encourage belly laughs, some silliness and a whole load of personality for them.
