DO I NEED A LIST FOR WEDDING PHOTOS?
Keep it simple, small list of family and close friends, it’s about getting the blend of enjoying the day and not spending all day doing photos.
Wedding photos are one of the most important parts of your wedding day, these are the memories you’ll cherish forever. That’s why you want to make sure your photographer nails every photo-op, starting with your prep shots all the way through to your exit.
Most of us shoot every wedding with a “must-have” list in mind. We know what it takes to tell a great story, and we do it over & over, using a tried and tested approach that always includes your key moments. My style of photography is very relaxed and easy going. I like to document the day as it happens but being a family man I know the importance of capturing those formal shots. I find limiting your family photos to the following is best, otherwise you’ll be gone from your guests all day!! 10 or 15 minutes with all family members ready to go and I will rattle through them to get them done and dusted.
TIME TO GET BACK TO YOUR DRINKS RECEPTION
The main ones I recommend are:
Bride, Groom & Parents
Bride, Groom & Parents & Siblings
Bride, Groom & Parents & Siblings & Partners & Kids
Bride, Groom & Grandparents
Its a really good idea to give the list of photos to your best man or a groomsman so they can round everyone up and have them ready. Flowergirls & Pageboys tend to go missing around this time too so keeping them close by is a must.
It’s important to know that your wedding shot list is only a guideline. Everyone’s wedding day unfolds a little differently, so you might end up with slightly different (and lots more!) than what you imagine. But that’s the beauty of what makes your day unique!
